ICYMI: Events from the Quarter
July, August and September were super busy, including one writer/speaker conference, two speaking engagements with a fabulous group of professionals on Mentoring and Personal Branding, and a breakout seminar at the North Carolina SHRM conference.
Looking for a speaker for a group event or know of someone who is? Let's connect! Content and materials can be customized for the meeting and audience needs. Feel free to reach out through email or phone (704.219.8677).
It's time to celebrate!
Two things are on the block for a big "hurrah" today. The first is the email or post you are reading right now! You are part of a select group who are receiving or reading my first "official" update email (I don't like to call it a newsletter). You will find some news in this, links to relevant articles and events you might want to know about.
Secondly, this is the 2nd anniversary of my first jump out of an airplane - on purpose - willingly. That experience changed my life in many ways and is one of the reasons you are receiving this email today (longer story available upon request).
So yay for you and yay for me. Yays all around!
What the blog??
Ever wonder if you're living in a fairy tale? The Cinderella Approach to Cost Cutting, my latest blog article, puts a little spin on the longer term impacts staff reduction. Grab your coffee and enjoy reading about one of our favorite princesses and the dangers of downsizing.
R-E-S-P-E-C-T! Aretha sang about it, we all want it, and Erika Andersen wrote a short piece about it this month for Forbes.com.
Ever wonder how to get and KEEP your connections on LinkedIn? Have look at this concise article by Kat Boogaard. I love #2.
Ever have a down day? Managerial requests frustrating the fire out of you? Aja Frost created a list of TedTalk pick-me-ups that will cure whatever ails you.
Thanks for investing five minutes to catch up. Let me know what you think and what you want to see in the next update.
